Foaster AI might be MBB’s worst nightmare

I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of AI replacing, streamlining, or just completely killing off paperwork and admin-heavy tasks. That’s why I always give extra credit to workflow startups like Seamflow — and recently, Foaster AI caught my attention too.

To be honest, I’ve always felt that consulting is, most of the time, not all the time, a massive waste of capital. Waste of cash, waste of human capital, and honestly, waste of time. It is not my fault that even The Devil Wears Prada roasted them so badly.

Of course, I do believe some brilliant consultants can genuinely fix major company problems better than internal teams. But a lot of the time, consulting still feels like expensive paperwork dressed up in pretty slides: market positioning, roadmap planning, market sizing, cost-cutting strategies, revenue maximisation, market entry plans — all the usual frameworks.

And for that exact reason, I think AI can be seriously dangerous to this industry.

What makes Foaster AI interesting to me is the bespoke angle. They are not just giving every employee the same generic “how to use ChatGPT” training. Instead, they use AI-led interviews across the company to understand how people actually work: their role, level, tools, workflows, bottlenecks, and daily tasks. Then they turn that into personalised AI training for each employee, focused on concrete use cases that can actually change how they work.

That is where it gets scary for traditional consulting.

Because if AI can first diagnose how a company works, then train every employee based on their actual workflow, it starts moving beyond software. It becomes a scalable, personalised transformation engine.
