Zaria has raised $5.2 million to build servicing and fiduciary infrastructure for structured credit products whose collateral values can change continuously.
What happened
The seed round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Zaria provides loan servicing, backup servicing, collateral monitoring and related infrastructure, initially focusing heavily on bitcoin- and digital-asset-backed lending. The company monitors changing collateral values and maintains loan records so it can potentially take over servicing if a primary provider fails. Zaria is already acting as collateral agent and backup servicer on a $188 million securitisation of bitcoin-backed loans from Ledn. It has also applied to the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national trust-bank charter.
Why it matters
Traditional loan infrastructure was designed for assets whose values and account records change relatively slowly. Crypto-backed and tokenised loans can require continuous collateral monitoring, creating demand for more real-time operational systems.
The bigger picture
If tokenised credit markets grow, the less-visible servicing, trustee and collateral-management layers could become important infrastructure businesses. Zaria's long-term position will depend on regulation, reliability and whether institutional lenders trust its controls.
