xorlab Raises €5M for Email Security
xorlab raised €5M to scale behavioural AI email-security software across Europe.

xorlab’s raise shows that email security is still a stubborn problem, even after years of filters, gateways and awareness training.
What happened
Zurich-based xorlab raised a €5M Series A+ led by Spicehaus Partners, with participation from Grapha Holding, EquityPitcher Ventures and ZKB Start-up Finance.
The company uses behavioural AI to detect email threats such as phishing, impersonation and business email compromise.
Instead of relying only on known signatures or static rules, xorlab focuses on behaviour: how senders, messages and communication patterns differ from what a company normally expects. That is increasingly important as attackers use AI to write more convincing emails and tailor social-engineering attempts.
The funding will help the company scale its email-security platform across Europe.
Why it matters
This is a good European cybersecurity sovereignty signal.
Email remains one of the most common entry points for attacks because it targets people, not just machines. AI-generated phishing makes the problem harder because malicious messages can become more fluent, personalised and difficult to spot.
For European customers, local security providers can also matter when procurement teams care about data protection, regulatory alignment and regional trust.
The bigger picture
The cyber market is being reshaped by AI on both sides.
Attackers can automate deception, but defenders can also use behavioural models to detect subtle changes in communication patterns. xorlab fits that shift: security tools are moving from static blocking toward adaptive systems that understand context, identity and behaviour inside the organisation.
