Verda Raises $189M for AI Cloud
Verda has raised $189 million in new funding, taking the European AI-cloud company above a $1 billion valuation.

Verda has raised a major new round as European AI infrastructure companies race to build enough compute capacity to compete with global cloud providers.
What happened
The company raised $189 million in new funding, including an oversubscribed Series B led by Emergence Capital.
Other investors include MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma, Lifeline Ventures, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders and Tesi.
Verda says the round values the company at more than $1 billion and takes total funding above $450 million. It also reported a $165 million annualised revenue run rate in July.
The company builds across data-centre capacity, hardware and cloud services rather than operating only as a GPU reseller.
Why it matters
AI compute has become a strategic bottleneck, creating room for a new class of specialist cloud providers often described as neoclouds.
The challenge is that these businesses are highly capital-intensive. They must secure GPUs, power, networking and physical capacity while competing with hyperscalers that have much larger balance sheets.
Verda's new round is therefore both a growth signal and evidence of how much capital is required to remain competitive.
The bigger picture
Europe's AI-sovereignty ambitions depend partly on having regional compute providers capable of serving demanding workloads. Verda's scale-up shows that European infrastructure companies can attract substantial capital, but it also highlights the economics of the race: building an independent AI cloud increasingly looks like infrastructure finance rather than conventional software venture investing.
