VEIR Raises $110M for AI Power Infrastructure
VEIR has raised $110M to commercialise superconducting power systems for high-density infrastructure including AI data centres.

AI data centres are creating an electrical-distribution problem as much as a generation problem.
What happened
VEIR raised a $110 million Series C to commercialise superconducting power-delivery systems.
The company's technology is designed to move very large amounts of electricity through a smaller physical footprint than conventional conductors, making it relevant to dense infrastructure such as AI data centres.
Why it matters
Data centres increasingly need enormous power flows concentrated into limited space. Even when electricity generation is available, cables, substations and internal power-distribution equipment can become bottlenecks.
Superconducting systems could help increase power density if they can be manufactured and operated economically at commercial scale.
The bigger picture
The AI infrastructure boom is creating a new market around the physical delivery of electricity.
Power electronics, grid connections, batteries and cooling are becoming strategic constraints alongside GPUs. VEIR is targeting one of the less visible layers: how to physically move enough electricity into increasingly dense compute environments.
