Uber doubles down on Carrum with $10M investment
Uber invested another $10 million in Indian fleet operator Carrum Mobility as it deepens its relationship with large managed vehicle partners.

Uber is putting more capital behind the physical supply layer of its marketplace rather than owning that fleet itself.
What happened
Uber invested $10 million in Carrum Mobility, valuing the Indian fleet-management startup at about $168 million post-money. Uber had already invested $7 million in January. Carrum owns roughly 5,100 vehicles across six Indian cities and supplies cars and drivers into Uber's network, including Uber Black.
Why it matters
Large fleet partners can give Uber more consistent access to vehicles and drivers, especially for premium services, without forcing the platform to directly own and operate those assets.
The bigger picture
Mobility platforms are increasingly blending marketplace economics with strategic investment in the infrastructure underneath them. The result is a more vertically coordinated model without full vertical integration.
