Type launches with $4M to make enterprise AI multiplayer

Most workplace AI still happens inside isolated individual chats. Type is betting that the next enterprise layer is shared infrastructure for teams rather than another personal chatbot.
What happened
Type publicly launched its shared AI workspace and disclosed a $4 million pre-seed round from Lerer Hippeau, Haystack, Matchstick and operators from companies including Slack, GitHub, Coinbase, Ramp and Replit. The product brings company files, integrations, reusable skills, automations and multiple AI models into one shared workspace.
Why it matters
When useful AI workflows live only inside one employee’s chat history, companies struggle to reuse or govern them. Type is trying to make context, tools and agent workflows portable across a team.
The bigger picture
Enterprise AI is moving from individual productivity toward collaborative infrastructure. Shared context, permissions and reusable agent workflows may become as important as access to the underlying models themselves.
