TwoStep raises $62.5M as cancer drug enters the clinic
TwoStep Therapeutics has raised $62.5 million as its lead peptide-drug conjugate receives clearance to begin human trials.

TwoStep Therapeutics is pairing a fresh financing with a concrete clinical milestone as its lead programme moves from preclinical development into human testing.
What happened
The company raised an oversubscribed $62.5 million Series A led by Insight Partners and Medical Excellence Capital, with Pfizer Ventures and M Ventures among the investors. The FDA also cleared the IND for TS-104, allowing a Phase 1 study to begin.
Why it matters
Moving into human trials changes the risk profile of a biotech company. Investors now have a near-term clinical milestone against which to assess whether the underlying peptide-drug conjugate platform translates into patients.
The bigger picture
Biotech capital is flowing toward companies that can connect platform ambition with specific clinical programmes. A credible technology story matters, but increasingly so does the speed at which it can generate human data.
