Twenty climate startups enter the EU's €3.4B funding pipeline
Twenty startup-linked projects are among 77 net-zero projects selected for a €3.4 billion EU Innovation Fund pipeline.

What happened
Twenty of the 77 projects selected for a €3.4 billion EU Innovation Fund pipeline involve startups, scaleups or younger technology companies. They span electric aviation, low-carbon steel, hydrogen, circular chemicals, carbon removal, sustainable fuels and clean manufacturing.
Selection does not yet constitute a final grant award. Funding agreements and exact allocations remain to be completed, and the precise share going to startup-linked projects is unclear.
Why it matters
Many climate technologies require demonstration plants and industrial facilities that are difficult to finance with venture capital alone. Public funding can help bridge the gap between technical validation and commercial-scale deployment.
The bigger picture
The programme shows climate startups moving from laboratory development toward infrastructure-scale projects.
