Trooly raises $20M for AI-led consumer interviews
Trooly has launched with nearly $20 million to use adaptive voice agents for longer, qualitative consumer-research interviews.

Trooly is trying to bring the depth of a human research interview to the scale and speed of automated surveys.
What happened
The company launched its AI-native research platform and disclosed nearly $20 million in seed funding.
Trooly’s voice agents conduct interviews lasting up to 45 minutes, ask follow-up questions based on each participant’s responses and convert the resulting conversations into structured consumer insights.
The company says its participant network can reach approximately 180 million potential respondents across 25 countries. Those reach and performance figures are company-reported and will need to be judged through customer results.
Why it matters
Traditional surveys are inexpensive and scalable but often fail to explain why a customer behaves in a particular way. Human interviews produce richer information but are slower, harder to standardise and expensive to run across large samples.
Adaptive voice agents could occupy the space between those formats. They can ask different questions when a respondent reveals a useful detail, while maintaining a repeatable research structure across hundreds of conversations.
The bigger picture
Generative AI is moving into professional workflows where the output is not content but evidence for a business decision. That raises a higher trust requirement. Customers must believe the agent asked neutral questions, interpreted answers correctly and did not manufacture patterns that were absent from the interviews.
Trooly’s long-term value will depend on research quality rather than the number of conversations it can run. Transparent methodology, strong sampling and clear links between raw responses and conclusions will be essential if brands use the platform for product, pricing or market-entry decisions.
