Tripo AI Raises $446M for Generative 3D
Tripo AI raised about $446M to expand generative 3D models for gaming, design and virtual production.

Generative AI is expanding from text, images and video into 3D assets that can be used in games, simulation and design.
What happened
Tripo AI raised approximately 3B yuan, or about $446M, across Series B and Series B+ rounds. MPCi led the financing, with strategic investors including Perfect World, BlueFocus, ThunderSoft and 37 Interactive Entertainment.
The company builds generative 3D models that can create 3D assets from text and images.
Why it matters
3D content creation is expensive and time-consuming, especially for gaming, animation, product design and virtual production. If generative 3D tools become reliable, they could change how studios and designers produce assets.
The investor mix is also useful. Strategic backers from gaming, advertising and software suggest demand from real creative and commercial workflows, not just AI demo culture.
The bigger picture
The media-AI market is moving into more specialised formats. The next wave may be less about general image generation and more about asset pipelines for industries that already spend heavily on 3D content.
