TrinaTracker Launches Robots for Solar Farms
TrinaTracker has launched robotic systems for solar-panel installation and cleaning, targeting labour and maintenance costs in utility-scale projects.

TrinaTracker is bringing robotics into two labour-intensive parts of utility-scale solar: panel installation and ongoing cleaning.
What happened
The company introduced BUILDEX, a robotic system designed to install photovoltaic modules, and AURORA, an autonomous cleaning robot.
BUILDEX combines AI vision, 3D cameras, LiDAR and mechanical control and is claimed to install as many as 90 modules per hour. AURORA plans cleaning routes using plant and environmental data.
Why it matters
As solar-module prices have fallen, construction, labour and maintenance represent a larger share of project economics. Large solar farms also require repeated cleaning and inspection to maintain output.
Automation could reduce installation time, improve consistency and lower long-term operating costs, particularly in regions where labour is expensive or sites are remote.
The bigger picture
Climate technology is increasingly intersecting with robotics. The next phase of renewable-energy cost reduction may come less from cheaper panels and more from automating how infrastructure is built, operated and maintained.
