Traversal raises $120m for AI that investigates software failures
Shipping software is one job. Finding out why it broke at 2am is another.

What happened
Traversal has announced a $120 million Series B at a $1 billion valuation, co-led by Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures.
Its AI agents help engineering teams investigate production incidents, identify causes and work on fixes. The company is targeting the operational work involved in keeping software running.
Why it matters
During an outage, engineers have to piece together what changed and where a failure started. Tools that shorten that investigation could reduce downtime and free up engineering time, provided their conclusions hold up in real incidents.
The bigger picture
AI development tools are expanding across the software lifecycle. Incident response is a demanding part of that market: an agent needs to understand a live system and avoid making an outage worse. The funding does not by itself demonstrate that level of reliability.
