Tesla plans a Texas Cybertruck wind-down to make room for Cybercab
Tesla plans to wind down Texas Cybertruck production around mid-2027 and increase room for Cybercab.

Factory space is a statement of priorities.
What happened
Elon Musk said on 6 November that Tesla plans to wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas factory around the middle of 2027, according to Reuters. The move would free capacity for increased Cybercab production.
Why it matters
The plan shifts manufacturing resources towards Tesla's autonomous vehicle ambitions. Building capacity for one vehicle has an opportunity cost: the same factory space cannot support every product at once.
The bigger picture
The timetable is a future plan, rather than evidence that Cybertruck production has already stopped. Producing more Cybercabs would also be a separate milestone from securing the permissions and operating capability needed for a commercial robotaxi service. Manufacturing plans show where Tesla wants to go; deployment will require more than a production line.
