Tavion raises €50M for European battery parks
Tavion combined €34M of equity with €16M of debt to fund three Polish battery parks, showing how climate infrastructure capital changes as projects move toward construction.

Battery storage is moving from a venture-development story into a project-finance story as European grids absorb more renewable generation.
What happened
Swedish battery-infrastructure company Tavion secured €34M in an oversubscribed equity round plus €16M in debt, for €50M of total new financing. Leitmotif and Oberon Capital led the equity financing. The capital will support three Polish battery parks totalling 69 MW.
Why it matters
Grid-scale batteries help balance intermittent wind and solar generation while providing flexibility to electricity markets. Once projects move toward construction, companies need debt and infrastructure-style capital alongside venture equity.
The bigger picture
Climate-tech financing often changes dramatically between technology development and commercial deployment. Tavion’s mix of equity and debt is representative of the broader capital stack emerging around energy infrastructure.
