Synthesia launches live AI coaching
Synthesia is moving beyond generated training videos into interactive practice, scoring and performance analytics.

Synthesia is expanding beyond AI-generated training content into a product that can assess whether employees can apply what they have learned.
What happened
The company launched Roleplay Sessions, where employees practise sales pitches, performance reviews and customer conversations with interactive AI avatars. The system responds in real time and evaluates performance against company-defined rubrics.
Synthesia plans to extend the product into additional use cases, including interviews and candidate screening. Its avatar and voice technology remain proprietary, while the underlying reasoning layer uses OpenAI models.
Why it matters
Video generation is becoming easier to replicate as model quality improves. Live practice, company-specific evaluation and performance analytics could create a more defensible enterprise product because they connect training directly with measurable behaviour.
The expansion also gives Synthesia a route from content creation into workflow software with recurring operational value.
The bigger picture
Enterprise buyers are becoming less interested in AI demonstrations and more focused on outcomes. Training platforms will increasingly be judged by whether employees improve, not by how quickly a video can be generated. Synthesia’s move reflects a broader transition from generative content tools toward interactive systems that guide, test and measure human performance.
