Sprive Raises $10M for Mortgage Overpayments
UK fintech Sprive has raised a $10 million Series A to expand its app for automating mortgage overpayments.

Sprive has raised a $10 million Series A around a simple consumer-finance proposition: make paying down a mortgage easier and more automatic.
What happened
The UK fintech raised $10 million in Series A funding, taking total funding above $15 million.
Existing investors including Ascension and Channel 4 Ventures participated alongside new backers Active Partners, Wealth Club and Rank Ventures.
Sprive's app gives users cashback on spending and automatically directs that money toward mortgage overpayments. The company says it now supports mortgages across 16 UK lenders.
Why it matters
A mortgage is the largest financial liability for many households, but most fintech products focus on spending, saving or investing instead.
Sprive is building directly around debt reduction. That becomes more meaningful when mortgage rates are elevated because each overpayment can save more interest over the life of the loan.
Its lender integrations also make the product more defensible than a generic budgeting tool because the app connects directly into users' mortgage obligations.
The bigger picture
Consumer fintech is becoming more specialised around specific financial outcomes rather than broad money-management dashboards.
Products that can automate a high-value action — paying down debt, optimising tax or moving savings — may have stronger retention than apps that simply show users information.
Sprive's round suggests investors still see room for focused consumer fintech when the product is tied to a large, recurring financial pain point.
