SpaceX proposes a large data-centre campus in Arizona
The proposed campus remains a planning project, with a public hearing scheduled.

A six-gigawatt ambition is a planning and electricity challenge before it is computing capacity.
What happened
SpaceX outlined plans at a 4 November community meeting for a large data-centre campus near Willcox Playa in Arizona. Reporting published on 6 November described a 747-acre proposal that could require more than 6GW of power if fully built. The permit application was submitted on 30 October, with a public hearing scheduled for 9 December.
Why it matters
The proposal would require substantial supporting infrastructure as well as the buildings themselves. Local questions about electricity, water and land use are part of deciding whether such a project can proceed.
The bigger picture
The reported power requirement is a potential completed-project figure. It is not capacity currently connected, an approved buildout or a guarantee of delivery. The next evidence to watch is the permitting process and the arrangements needed to turn the proposal into an operating site.
