Solvera Raises €5.62M for AI-Native Engineering

Solvera has raised €5.62 million to build an engineering firm whose workflows are designed around AI agents from the start.

What happened

The Oslo-based company raised a pre-seed round led by Seedcamp with participation from Construct Venture, Inception Fund, Momentum, OBOS Ventures, PSV Tech, Sondo, The Nordic Web Ventures and angel investors. Rather than selling software to engineering firms, Solvera operates as the engineering firm of record. Human engineers retain responsibility for judgement while AI agents handle tasks such as testing design alternatives, coordination and production work. The company currently focuses on mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering and has already worked on Norwegian building projects. The funding will support expansion in Oslo, a London office and further development of its operating system.

Why it matters

Solvera represents the emerging AI-native services model: instead of selling automation to incumbents, rebuild the professional-services business itself around automation and charge customers for the final outcome. This can align software productivity gains directly with service margins.

The bigger picture

If the model works, similar structures could appear in architecture, accounting, law and consulting. The main constraints are professional liability, regulation and whether AI can reliably handle enough production work without weakening engineering quality.
