What happened
The Series D was led by Avidity Partners with participation from 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures, KLT Holdings and other investors. Sirona's RadOS platform combines image storage, diagnostic viewing, reporting, worklists and workflow AI. The company says revenue grew 2.5 times year over year, contracted annual recurring revenue grew 2.7 times and more than 12 million annual imaging exams are under contract. Those operating metrics are company-reported. The funding will support commercialisation of Cortex, an agentic-AI orchestration layer, and expansion into international markets.
Why it matters
Radiology departments often rely on fragmented systems for image viewing, reporting and AI applications. A unified operating platform can reduce context switching and make it easier to embed AI directly into the diagnostic workflow rather than add separate point solutions.
The bigger picture
Healthcare AI adoption increasingly depends on workflow integration rather than model accuracy alone. Sirona is positioning itself as infrastructure for radiology departments, but success will depend on clinical reliability, interoperability and whether hospitals see measurable productivity gains.
