Sigvi Raises €1.2M for Rental Automation

Independent car-rental operators are not usually the loudest mobility story. But they are exactly the kind of fragmented market where better software can matter.

What happened

Sigvi raised €1.2M in pre-seed funding to expand its AI-powered operating platform for independent car-rental businesses. The platform covers workflows including dynamic pricing, bookings, keyless access, vehicle inspections, maintenance scheduling and customer support.

The company is targeting smaller rental operators rather than global rental giants. That matters because independent fleets often face the same operational complexity as larger companies, but with fewer internal software resources.

Why it matters

This is a small round, so it should not be treated like a major VC signal. The interesting part is the market structure. Rental fleets are asset-heavy, operationally messy and sensitive to utilisation. If cars sit idle, revenue disappears. If inspections, pricing or customer support are slow, margins get squeezed.

Sigvi is trying to make independent rental operators more automated and competitive. That puts it in the broader category of vertical SaaS for old-school service businesses: software that does not replace the asset, but makes the asset easier to run.

The bigger picture

Mobility software is moving beyond ride-hailing and robotaxis. A lot of the sector’s next gains may come from making existing fleets smarter: rental cars, bikes, vans, delivery vehicles and shared assets.

Sigvi is early and the funding amount is modest. But the angle is concrete: give fragmented operators the automation layer they cannot easily build themselves. That is a more useful signal than another abstract AI mobility pitch.
