Sentra raises $150m to govern the data AI agents can access

Before an agent starts work, it helps to know which files it can reach.

What happened

Capital One Ventures led a $150 million strategic investment in Sentra. The company's platform identifies sensitive enterprise data and maps access by people, applications and AI agents.

The funding will support product development, commercial expansion and entry into new geographies.

Why it matters

An agent can create a data-exposure problem by inheriting more access than its task requires. Understanding the data and the permissions underneath the agent is therefore part of preparing for deployment.

The bigger picture

Agent security spans several layers, from the model's behaviour to the tools and information it can use. Sentra is targeting the data and access layer. The investment establishes new capital for that strategy; it does not demonstrate that every deployment is protected or every access risk has been resolved.
