Eye tracking sounds like a small component, but it could become one of the key input layers for wearables, smart glasses and medical optics.
What happened
Finnish deeptech startup SeeTrue Technologies raised €2.2M for ultra-low-power eye-sensing technology.
The round was led by ZEISS Ventures, with participation from Joyance Partners, FOV Ventures and others. SeeTrue is focused on making eye-sensing systems efficient enough for real products, where battery life, comfort and reliability matter.
Why it matters
Eye tracking can unlock more natural interfaces. Devices could understand where a user is looking, reduce input friction and support applications in medical devices, AR glasses, accessibility tools and attention-aware computing.
The hard part is power. A sensor that drains battery too quickly is not useful in a wearable or portable device. That makes low-power sensing a genuine product bottleneck, not just a technical nice-to-have.
The bigger picture
As computing moves beyond phones and laptops, the input stack becomes more important. Cameras, microphones, biosensors and eye tracking could all become part of the next interface layer. SeeTrue’s round is a small but clean signal in that direction.
