Savi raises $7M as AI scams target consumers

Generative AI is making social-engineering attacks cheaper and more convincing, while most cybersecurity products still focus on enterprises.

What happened

Savi Security raised a $7M seed round led by Acrew Capital, with participation from Magnify Ventures, TTCER and Resolute Ventures.

The company also launched its consumer app on iPhone and Android. The product is designed to help people detect increasingly convincing scams arriving through phone calls, texts and email.

Why it matters

AI changes the economics of impersonation.

Attackers can generate realistic messages, voices and narratives at greater scale, making traditional advice such as simply looking for spelling mistakes less useful.

That creates demand for security products built around ordinary communications and consumer identity rather than only corporate endpoints.

The bigger picture

Consumer cybersecurity could become a larger category as generative AI lowers the cost of targeted deception.

The market opportunity sits across scam detection, identity verification and communications security. Savi’s round suggests investors expect AI-enabled fraud to create demand outside the traditional enterprise-security stack.
