Santé Raises $15M for AI Liquor Retail

Vertical AI works best when software already understands the specific economics and workflows of an industry. Santé is applying that model to independent wine and spirits retail.

What happened

Santé raised a $15 million Series A to expand its operating platform for wine and spirits retailers.

The system combines point of sale, payments, inventory, e-commerce, delivery integrations and AI tools. The company says nearly 1,000 stores use the platform and collectively process around $2 billion in annual gross merchandise value.

Why it matters

Independent retailers often rely on multiple disconnected tools for payments, stock management and online sales. Combining those systems creates a richer operating dataset.

That data can support more useful AI features around purchasing, merchandising, marketing and staffing because the software has direct access to how each store actually performs.

The bigger picture

The vertical SaaS market is evolving from record-keeping systems into AI-enabled operating platforms.

The advantage for specialised providers is context. A model embedded in a system that already knows products, margins, inventory and customer behaviour can automate decisions that a generic assistant cannot easily make.
