Reservoir Raises $8M for Water Heating
Reservoir raised an $8M seed round for water-heater hardware, a quiet but important piece of building electrification.

A small hardware round points at one of the less glamorous parts of climate tech: heating and hot water.
What happened
Reservoir, a water-heater maker, raised an $8M seed round led by Asymmetric Capital Partners, with Founder Collective and MCJ participating.
The company is working in a building-infrastructure category that usually gets less attention than EVs, batteries or solar, but still represents a meaningful energy-consumption problem.
Why it matters
This is a climate-tech infrastructure signal. Heating and hot water are large, everyday energy loads inside buildings. Better hardware can matter for electrification, household energy efficiency and grid flexibility.
The round also shows that climate capital is still flowing into practical hardware categories, not only software or carbon-accounting tools.
The bigger picture
The energy transition will be built through many unglamorous upgrades. Water heaters, heat pumps, grid controls and building systems may not look like frontier tech, but they can become important infrastructure if they reduce demand, shift load and make electrification easier to adopt.
