ReEmerge Raises $37M for Brain-Injury Therapy

ReEmerge has emerged from stealth with a $37 million Series A to test targeted brain stimulation for chronic cognitive impairment after traumatic brain injury.

ReEmerge Raises $37M for Brain-Injury Therapy

Chronic traumatic brain injury is usually managed through rehabilitation and compensation rather than treatments that restore lost cognitive function. ReEmerge has raised $37 million to test a more ambitious approach based on targeted brain stimulation.

What happened

The oversubscribed Series A was co-led by USVP and Santé. ReEmerge's Cognitive Network Restoration Therapy is designed to stimulate underperforming but still viable neural networks in people with long-term cognitive impairment following brain injuries.

The funding will support a multicentre clinical study enrolling up to 40 patients.

Why it matters

Brain injuries can leave patients with lasting problems involving attention, memory and executive function even years after the original trauma.

If targeted stimulation can reactivate functional networks rather than simply help patients adapt to impairment, it could open a new treatment pathway for a population with limited therapeutic options.

The bigger picture

Neurotechnology investment is expanding from devices that monitor the brain toward systems that actively modulate neural circuits.

ReEmerge remains at an early clinical stage, so efficacy and durability still need to be demonstrated in controlled studies. But the financing reflects growing confidence that advances in imaging, stimulation and brain-network mapping can make previously untreatable neurological conditions more addressable.
