Procode Raises $10M for AI Medical Billing
Procode has raised $10 million to expand an AI medical-billing platform through product development and acquisitions across surgical specialities.

Procode has raised a $10 million Series A to expand its AI-powered medical-billing services across more surgical specialities.
What happened
The round was led by Health Velocity Capital. Procode plans to grow through a mix of product development and acquisitions, combining automation with established billing operations.
Medical billing involves coding clinical work, submitting claims and resolving denials—tasks that remain labour-intensive and fragmented across specialist providers.
Why it matters
Procode is not pursuing a pure software-sales model. Acquiring service businesses can provide customers, operational expertise and real billing data from the start.
That can make AI easier to deploy because the company controls more of the workflow. It also creates integration risk: each acquired business may use different systems, processes and payer relationships.
The bigger picture
Healthcare is becoming a major testing ground for the AI rollup strategy. Administrative work offers clear costs and measurable outcomes, while fragmented service providers create acquisition targets.
The strongest companies will need to prove that automation improves claim accuracy, payment speed and operating margins without weakening compliance or increasing billing errors.
