Prime Minute is applying a defence-style integrated technology model to natural-disaster response, beginning with wildfires.

What happened

The company emerged from stealth with $15M in pre-seed funding led by Eclipse, with participation from 8VC.

Prime Minute is building systems that combine AI-assisted mission analysis, real-time intelligence, software, hardware and aerial capabilities. Its initial focus is wildfire suppression and disaster response.

Why it matters

Wildfire technology is often fragmented across detection, mapping, communications and firefighting hardware. Prime Minute is taking a more integrated approach, aiming to coordinate multiple layers of technology within one operational system.

That resembles the model used by modern defence primes, where software, sensors and hardware are designed to work together rather than sold as isolated tools.

The bigger picture

Climate adaptation is becoming an increasingly important technology market as extreme-weather events intensify. The category may increasingly borrow from defence and aerospace: autonomous systems, command software, sensing and mission planning can all translate into civilian disaster response.
