Pliant raises $80m for AI agent payments infrastructure
An agent that can move money needs more than a payment button.

An agent that can move money needs more than a payment button.
What happened
Pliant announced an $80 million Series C, led by Seaya Nova and Speedinvest, with participation from Illuminate Financial, Motive Partners and Molten Ventures.
The company provides modular business-payment infrastructure. Funding will support North American expansion and its work on payment workflows that AI agents can access through that infrastructure.
Why it matters
Businesses need permissions, spending controls and records of what happened when software initiates a payment. Those requirements create work for payment providers as well as for the companies building agents.
The bigger picture
The opportunity is tied to turning automated decisions into controlled financial actions. The round supports Pliant's expansion plans, while actual adoption will depend on how well the infrastructure fits customers' workflows and how reliably those controls operate.
