PitPro Deploys First Robotic Tire-Changing System
PitPro Automation has deployed its first commercial robotic tire-changing system, targeting one of automotive service’s most repetitive labour bottlenecks.

PitPro Automation has put its first commercial robotic tire-changing system into service, targeting a narrow but labour-intensive automotive workflow.
What happened
The system was installed at a Kal Tire location in Calgary. It uses two robotic arms and sensors to locate lug nuts, remove wheels and reinstall them.
PitPro says the system can replace or rotate a full set of four tires in under 15 minutes.
Why it matters
This is the kind of constrained task where robotics can reach commercial deployment sooner than general-purpose machines. Tire changes are repetitive, physically demanding and relatively standardised.
Automating them could help shops manage labour shortages while improving throughput and consistency.
The bigger picture
Physical AI is likely to scale first through specialised systems that solve clearly defined industrial or service tasks. The strongest near-term robotics businesses may look less like humanoid demos and more like machines quietly taking over one repetitive workflow at a time.
