Pilot Raises $4.5M to Connect AI Agents
Pilot Protocol has emerged from stealth with $4.5 million to build shared discovery, identity and transaction infrastructure for AI agents.

Pilot Protocol has emerged from stealth with a $4.5 million seed round to build a network through which AI agents can find and transact with one another.
What happened
The round was led by Version One Ventures. Pilot is developing infrastructure intended to let agents discover services, authenticate connections and exchange value across a shared network.
The product remains early, and broad adoption has not yet been demonstrated.
Why it matters
An individual AI agent can use tools through direct integrations. A larger agent economy requires common ways to identify participants, verify permissions, locate capabilities and settle payments.
Without those layers, every connection becomes a custom integration and autonomous transactions remain difficult to trust.
The bigger picture
AI infrastructure is moving beyond models and application frameworks towards coordination. Several startups are targeting machine identity, agent communication, payment rails and shared protocols.
The opportunity could be large if agents begin buying services from one another. But networks only become valuable when enough participants adopt them. Pilot's technical design matters; its harder challenge will be attracting developers, tools and agents to the same standard.
