Photon Bridge raises €10M for AI data-centre optics
Photon Bridge raises €10 million to develop scalable laser technology for optical connections in AI infrastructure.

What happened
Photon Bridge raised €10 million, co-led by Amadeus APEX Technology Fund and 360 Capital, with existing investors participating. The Eindhoven company is developing laser technology for optical connections used in AI infrastructure. It plans first samples in 2027 and volume manufacturing from 2028.
Why it matters
As AI clusters grow, moving data between processors becomes an increasingly important engineering problem. Optical connections are one route to addressing that challenge, but they also require a scalable supply of suitable components. Photon Bridge is targeting the laser-manufacturing part of that supply chain.
The bigger picture
The round highlights how AI investment reaches far beyond models and processors. Materials, components and manufacturing processes can become constraints as systems grow. For Photon Bridge, the milestones are customer qualification and a credible transition from development to repeatable production. Samples and manufacturing dates remain plans, rather than products already delivered at scale.
