PCI Brings AI Rail Inspection to Europe
PCI Technology Group is expanding AI-enabled railway inspection into Europe through a partnership covering robotic and multimodal infrastructure monitoring.

PCI Technology Group is targeting European rail networks with AI-enabled systems designed to automate infrastructure inspection.
What happened
The company unveiled several railway inspection technologies and signed a cooperation agreement with German rail technology company RPS.
Its systems cover overhead-line inspection, rail-defect detection, rail-break monitoring and track temperature and stress measurement, combining multispectral imaging, inspection robots and multimodal AI. The companies plan to pursue European deployments together.
Why it matters
Rail networks contain huge amounts of infrastructure that require frequent inspection. Much of that work is labour-intensive and can require access to hazardous or operationally sensitive environments.
Automation could allow operators to identify defects earlier while reducing disruption and human exposure.
The bigger picture
Infrastructure maintenance is becoming an important applied-AI market. Railways, power grids, bridges and industrial plants all generate repetitive inspection tasks where robotics and computer vision can create measurable operational value.
