PaperFoam borrows €2 million to expand packaging production
Invest International’s loan supports Czech capacity expansion and working capital for Malaysian and US plants.

Alternative materials need dependable manufacturing and working capital to reach customers. PaperFoam’s €2 million loan finances another step in that industrial expansion.
What happened
Invest International announced the financing on 29 October. The loan will support expansion of PaperFoam’s Czech production facility and working capital for its Malaysian and US factories.
PaperFoam manufactures packaging using starch and natural fibres. This is debt for an established manufacturer, rather than a new equity round for an early-stage startup.
Why it matters
Physical production consumes cash before finished products reach customers. Equipment, materials, tooling and inventory can therefore become constraints even when the material itself is already developed.
The financing illustrates how a specialist public-backed lender can address part of that scale-up requirement. Environmental claims still need assessment against the relevant product and disposal conditions.
The bigger picture
The useful commercial evidence is consistent output, competitive costs and demand that keeps capacity productive. A loan supports those goals while adding repayment obligations. The wider commercial question is whether financing translates customer demand into productive capacity and sustainable cash generation.
