OpenAI expands ChatGPT Health across the US
ChatGPT is moving from general health questions toward connected medical and behavioural data.

ChatGPT is becoming a health-data interface, not merely a place to ask general medical questions. That makes the product more useful—and much higher stakes.
What happened
OpenAI is rolling out ChatGPT Health to adult users across its Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans in the US.
Users can connect information from services including Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Epic and Oracle Health. That allows ChatGPT to discuss health questions using information from activity records, nutrition tools and medical systems rather than relying only on what a user types into a conversation.
OpenAI says ChatGPT now handles around 300 million health-related queries each week. The company continues to state that the product is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions and advises users to confirm important decisions with qualified professionals.
Why it matters
Connected data can make answers more personalised and reduce the need for users to manually explain their history. It can also help people organise records, prepare questions for appointments and understand unfamiliar terminology.
The same integration increases the consequences of errors. Incomplete records, misunderstood context or an overly confident answer could influence real health decisions. Privacy and consent also become more sensitive when conversations incorporate medical and behavioural data.
The bigger picture
Consumer AI companies are moving into domains where trust and regulation matter as much as model capability. Health is one of the largest opportunities because people already use general assistants for information, but it is also one of the hardest areas to govern safely.
The competitive advantage may come from secure integrations, transparent limitations and careful escalation—not simply producing the most fluent response.
