OneSoil’s €1M raise puts AI agents into the field

AI agents are not only for inboxes, spreadsheets and customer support. OneSoil’s latest raise shows they are also moving into fields, crops and daily farming decisions.

What happened

Zurich-based agritech company OneSoil secured €1M from existing investors to expand its AI-powered farming assistant.

The company builds precision agriculture software that uses satellite imagery, field data and AI to help farmers monitor fields, analyse productivity, create variable-rate application maps and make operational decisions.

Its AI Agronomist is designed as a natural-language assistant inside the OneSoil app, giving farmers daily summaries of field conditions and helping them spot areas that need attention.

Why it matters

Agriculture is a real-world workflow with messy data: weather, soil, crop health, pests, flooding and seasonal variation all interact at once.

That makes it a strong use case for multimodal AI. The value is not in a chatbot for the sake of a chatbot, but in turning satellite and field data into practical decisions farmers can act on.

The bigger picture

The best AI agent opportunities may appear in specialised verticals where users have complex daily decisions and limited time to interpret raw data.

OneSoil fits that pattern: AI becomes useful when it is embedded into the actual workflow, not sitting separately as a generic assistant.
