Omen buys Aquatic Labs for $16m
Omen AI acquired Aquatic Labs in a $16m cash-and-stock deal to expand continuous monitoring of data-centre cooling fluids.

Cooling systems depend on the condition of the fluid running through them. Omen AI’s acquisition of Aquatic Labs adds another way to measure that condition continuously.
What happened
Omen AI acquired Aquatic Labs for $16m in cash and stock, bringing its team, intellectual property and sensor research into the business. Aquatic Labs founder Allan Adams joins as chief science officer.
Aquatic Labs measures alkalinity, or a fluid’s ability to neutralise acid. That technology complements Omen’s elemental analysis and biological monitoring as the company develops automated monitoring and treatment for data-centre cooling systems.
Why it matters
Corrosion, mineral buildup and biological contamination can interfere with cooling. Continuous measurements could help operators spot changes between scheduled laboratory tests and decide when maintenance is needed.
A more complete picture of fluid condition could also help operators avoid unnecessary replacement. The practical value depends on reliable measurements and how effectively they inform operating decisions.
The bigger picture
AI infrastructure creates demand for specialised businesses that keep expensive equipment running. Cooling-fluid analysis is one example of a narrow technical problem with implications for uptime, maintenance and resource use.
The acquisition combines complementary sensing capabilities. The next step is integrating them into products and proving their usefulness in operating facilities, where reduced intervention and fewer disruptions are more meaningful than the number of measurements alone.
