NTT DATA signs a 900MW fuel-cell agreement with Bloom Energy
Initial shipments under the onsite power agreement are scheduled to start in 2027.

Securing computing capacity increasingly means securing its electricity supply, too.
What happened
NTT DATA announced on 5 November an agreement with Bloom Energy for 900 megawatts of onsite power generation across multiple data-centre projects globally. The plan uses Bloom's fuel-cell technology as primary power, with initial shipments beginning in 2027.
Why it matters
Onsite generation could give developers another option in markets where electricity supply constrains new capacity. The commercial significance is the scale of the agreement and its place in NTT DATA's infrastructure plans.
The bigger picture
The 900MW figure describes the agreement's planned deployment, rather than capacity already operating. Fuel cells also should not be assumed to provide carbon-free electricity simply because generation happens without combustion. The eventual performance, emissions and delivery schedule depend on the installations and how they are supplied.
