NovaGo Raises $30M for Spinal-Cord Therapy

NovaGo Therapeutics raised $30M to advance proof-of-concept work for acute spinal cord injury therapy.

NovaGo Raises $30M for Spinal-Cord Therapy

NovaGo’s new financing is a reminder that biotech capital is still flowing into hard clinical problems when the science has a clear development path. Acute spinal cord injury remains an area with limited regenerative treatment options.

What happened

NovaGo Therapeutics raised a CHF 24M, or roughly $30M, Series B led by Neurimmune and Pureos Bioventures. The company is advancing NG004, an anti-Nogo-A antibody for acute spinal cord injury.

The funding will support proof-of-concept clinical work. That matters because the company is not just raising around an early discovery idea; it is trying to move a specific therapeutic candidate through a more evidence-heavy stage.

Why it matters

Spinal cord injury is one of the more difficult areas in regenerative medicine. Even modest functional recovery could be clinically meaningful, but the biology, trial design and patient variability make development risky.

NovaGo’s round shows continued appetite for specialised biotech programmes that address severe unmet need, especially where investors can see a defined mechanism and a clinical milestone ahead.

The bigger picture

The strongest biotech financings are increasingly attached to platform credibility plus a concrete lead programme. NovaGo fits that pattern: the broader promise is regeneration, but the near-term test is whether NG004 can show meaningful proof-of-concept data in acute spinal cord injury.
