Novadip Raises €10.4M for Bone Therapy

Novadip Biosciences has raised new financing to move a regenerative bone therapy through a pivotal clinical trial and toward a potential US regulatory filing.

What happened

The Belgian biotech closed €10.4 million in convertible financing, led by New Science Ventures with participation from existing investors.

The capital will support a Phase 3 trial of NVD003, an autologous bone-graft product being developed for congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia.

NVD003 uses a patient's own adipose-derived stem cells embedded in a three-dimensional extracellular matrix.

Closing the financing also unlocks access to another tranche of an existing €18 million European Investment Bank venture-debt facility.

Why it matters

This is a later-stage development programme rather than an early platform bet. A pivotal trial puts Novadip much closer to the point where clinical data can determine whether the product has a credible regulatory path.

Regenerative medicine is technically difficult because therapies must reliably produce biological repair rather than simply manage symptoms.

The bigger picture

Biotech financing remains selective, but companies approaching regulatory milestones can still attract capital because each successful trial materially reduces uncertainty. Novadip's financing also shows how European biotechs increasingly combine venture equity, convertible instruments and public-backed debt to fund expensive clinical programmes without relying on one source of capital.
