Northstar Raises $7M for Agentic Cybersecurity
Northstar Security emerges from stealth with $7 million in seed funding for contextual security analysis and agent-assisted remediation.

Enterprise security tools produce extensive information about vulnerabilities, identities and cloud configuration. Northstar Security is trying to connect those signals into a clearer picture of real risk.
What happened
San Francisco-based Northstar Security launched publicly with a $7 million seed round led by Wing Venture Capital, with participation from MVP, Outliers and other security investors.
Its product centres on a Security Context Graph, which aims to connect data from security and IT systems to identify combinations of weaknesses that may matter more together than in isolation.
For example, a configuration issue could become far more serious when combined with excessive permissions and a publicly exposed service. Northstar's AI agents are intended to help security teams investigate those relationships and coordinate remediation.
The company is early stage. Broad customer deployment, quantified security outcomes and long-term product reliability have not been independently established.
Why it matters
Security operations often struggle with alert volume and fragmented tooling. An individual vulnerability score does not reveal whether an attacker can actually reach a sensitive asset or exploit other weaknesses along the way.
Contextual analysis may help teams prioritise the risks that could produce meaningful harm. Agent-assisted remediation could also reduce repetitive coordination work, but automatic changes to production environments carry a risk of disruption.
Permission controls, accurate system context and human approval of high-impact actions will be critical.
The bigger picture
Cybersecurity is shifting toward understanding connected attack paths and using AI to support operational decisions. Northstar represents that trend, although proving measurable reductions in risk will matter more than the number of alerts its system can analyse.
