North.cloud has raised $60 million to automate management of cloud, data and AI infrastructure spending.
What happened
The Series B was led by PeakSpan Capital with participation from Litquidity Ventures, Companyon Ventures, Alpaca, Uncommon Denominator, Gaingels and Mana Ventures. North.cloud builds FinOps software that tracks and optimises spending across cloud infrastructure, GPU providers, model APIs and data platforms. The company says it is approaching $2 billion of cloud spend under management and has helped customers save more than $400 million. Those figures are company-reported. The platform is moving beyond dashboards toward automated actions that can adjust infrastructure purchasing and usage.
Why it matters
AI workloads make infrastructure spending harder to predict because costs can shift rapidly across compute, storage, networking and model usage. Companies increasingly need systems that do more than report overspend after the fact. Automated FinOps could help reduce waste and match infrastructure decisions more closely to actual workload demand.
The bigger picture
As enterprise AI scales, cost management becomes a strategic layer of the stack rather than a back-office function. North.cloud's long-term value will depend on how much savings its automation can deliver without creating operational risk or reducing performance.
