Nordic Foodtech VC Gets €30M EIF Backing
The European Investment Fund has committed up to €30M to Nordic Foodtech VC's second agrifood technology fund.

Nordic Foodtech VC has secured a commitment of up to €30M from the European Investment Fund for its second fund.
What happened
The fund has an €80M target and previously reached an initial €40M close. It plans to invest in roughly 30 early-stage companies across agriculture, food, health, aquaculture and biosolutions.
Why it matters
Agrifood technologies frequently require more patient capital than software because companies may need hardware, biological validation, manufacturing or regulatory approvals before scaling. Institutional commitments can help attract additional private LP capital into a sector where funding gaps remain significant.
The bigger picture
Food security, agricultural productivity and sustainable production are increasingly treated as strategic technology themes. Public institutions are using fund commitments to crowd private capital into areas that may be commercially attractive but need longer investment horizons than mainstream venture markets typically offer.
