Neno Raises €6.6M for AI Back Office
Amsterdam-based Neno raised €6.6M seed funding to build AI-native accounting, tax and back-office services for European SMEs.

Small businesses do not usually want more dashboards. They want admin work to disappear.
What happened
Amsterdam-based Neno raised €6.6M seed funding to build AI-native accounting, tax and back-office services for European SMEs.
The round was led by AlleyCorp, with participation from Motive Partners, Firstminute Capital and operators from companies across fintech, AI and enterprise software.
Why it matters
This is a good AI-services-as-operating-layer signal. Accounting, tax, reconciliation and compliance are painful but necessary workflows for small businesses.
Neno’s angle is not simply to sell software that a founder has to manage. It is trying to build a back-office service layer where AI handles more of the work in the background.
The bigger picture
AI adoption in SMEs may look different from enterprise adoption. Smaller companies often lack the staff to configure complex tools, but they have strong demand for outcomes: books closed, taxes filed, invoices reconciled, compliance handled.
That creates room for AI-native service businesses that blend software, workflow automation and human oversight into one operating layer.
