Neko Health Brings Body Scans to America

Neko Health expands to New York with a premium preventive body-scan service backed by major consumer-tech capital.

Neko Health Brings Body Scans to America

Neko Health is bringing a consumer-tech approach to preventive healthcare into the US market.

What happened

The company has launched in New York with a one-hour body scan priced at $500.

Neko uses scanning technology to screen for blood, skin and metabolic issues. The company has raised nearly $1 billion in total and says its global waitlist has topped 300,000 people.

The scan is not covered by insurance, although it may qualify for Health Savings Account use.

Why it matters

Preventive healthcare is a huge market, but the commercial model is difficult.

Neko is betting that consumers will pay directly for a premium, data-rich health scan before symptoms appear. That creates a different route from traditional insurance-led diagnostics, but also raises questions about access, follow-up care and whether early detection translates into better outcomes.

The bigger picture

Healthtech is moving further into consumer-grade experiences.

The challenge is turning attractive screening products into clinically useful, scalable healthcare infrastructure. Neko’s US launch will test whether preventive scans can move beyond wealthy early adopters into a broader health market.
