Navitas Buys Claros for AI Power
Navitas Semiconductor agreed to acquire Claros, a data-centre energy startup, in a deal valued at about $232.8M.

AI infrastructure is increasingly a power problem, not only a chip problem.
What happened
Navitas Semiconductor agreed to acquire Claros, a data-centre energy startup, in a transaction valued at about $232.8M.
Claros focuses on power-management technology for next-generation AI data centres. The acquisition gives Navitas a deeper position in the infrastructure layer that supports large AI clusters, where energy delivery and efficiency are becoming critical bottlenecks.
Why it matters
AI data centres need GPUs, but they also need power systems that can handle dense, high-performance compute reliably.
As clusters get larger, power delivery, conversion and thermal performance become strategic parts of the stack. A small efficiency improvement can matter when infrastructure is being deployed at data-centre scale.
The bigger picture
The AI buildout is creating opportunities for companies far outside the model layer. Semiconductors, power electronics, cooling, grid flexibility and energy storage are all becoming part of the AI supply chain.
This acquisition points to a market where hardware and energy infrastructure companies are positioning themselves around AI demand, rather than treating data centres as a standard enterprise customer segment.
