MucoLife receives a SEK 1m grant for COPD drug manufacturing
Vinnova funding supports process development for the preclinical MLT-001 candidate.

A promising molecule still needs a process that can make it consistently.
What happened
MucoLife Therapeutics announced on 6 November a SEK 1 million Vinnova grant to develop scalable manufacturing for MLT-001, an investigational inhaled peptide being developed for COPD. Work with a manufacturing partner will focus on purification, yield and a transferable production process.
Why it matters
The grant addresses a practical development step: producing material consistently enough to support later work. Manufacturing quality and repeatability matter before a candidate can progress through the stages required of a medicine.
The bigger picture
MLT-001 remains preclinical. The award is a manufacturing-development grant, rather than clinical trial results or evidence that the treatment is safe and effective in patients. Its relevance lies in advancing the production process, even though the funding amount is smaller than a typical venture round.
