Moonwalk raises $70M for next-generation obesity RNAi
Moonwalk Biosciences has raised $70 million to advance an adipose-targeted RNAi programme for obesity toward human trials.

Obesity biotech is broadening beyond incretin drugs as investors back new biological approaches to weight loss and body composition.
What happened
Moonwalk Biosciences closed an oversubscribed $70 million Series B co-led by Alpha Wave Ventures and YK Bioventures. Eli Lilly, Gaorong Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures and Future Ventures also participated. The funding will advance an adipose-targeted RNAi programme toward human trials.
Why it matters
The programme aims to regulate biology directly inside fat tissue, with the goal of reducing fat while preserving lean mass. That addresses one of the emerging questions in obesity treatment as the market expands beyond first-generation blockbuster drugs.
The bigger picture
The obesity market is becoming a platform race. Capital is now flowing into RNA technologies, muscle-preservation strategies and combination approaches as biotech companies look for differentiation beyond GLP-1 medicines.
