MoonPay acquires Glide to simplify funding crypto applications

MoonPay has acquired Glide, a four-person YC-backed startup that simplifies how users move money into crypto applications, in an all-equity transaction with undisclosed financial terms.

What happened

Glide allows applications to accept deposits from different tokens, wallets, exchanges and payment cards. Its infrastructure handles the conversion and routing needed to deliver the asset an application expects, reducing the number of steps users must complete manually.

Glide’s team will join MoonPay. The acquisition is MoonPay’s sixth announced deal during 2026, reflecting an active strategy of adding infrastructure and product capabilities through small acquisitions.

Because the price was not disclosed and the team is small, the transaction appears to be primarily a technology and talent acquisition rather than a large consolidation deal.

Why it matters

Funding a crypto wallet or application remains unnecessarily complicated for many users. They may hold the wrong token, use a different blockchain or need to move funds through an exchange before completing the intended transaction.

That friction causes customers to abandon purchases and makes blockchain products harder to use than conventional payment services. Glide gives MoonPay another layer for turning fragmented funding sources into a simpler deposit experience.

The bigger picture

Crypto infrastructure is gradually shifting away from exposing every technical step to the user. The companies that make wallet funding, token conversion and cross-network movement feel invisible could become important distribution layers for digital-asset applications.

MoonPay’s challenge is integrating its growing collection of acquisitions into one coherent platform. Buying capabilities quickly is useful only if developers and consumers experience them as a simpler, more reliable service.
